A New Blog and a New Story

I had planned for my first post here to be some sort of all-about-me post, an introduction of sorts. Then, this morning, I received the message that the new issue of Allegory Ezine is live, and with it, my story, “The Widow and the Stranger.”

This short story is one of my favorites, thus far. First person narrators are not my normal style, but Sarah Kirby’s voice came to me fully formed as I scribed her little tale. The story is a character piece — no huge life and death plot — but that suited me and Sarah just fine.

I was also pleased with the opening line of this story. It usually takes me a few tries to find the perfect hook for my openings, but this one came out fully formed and I didn’t edit it once.

So, if you have the time, head on over to Allegory and give it a read. And I’d love to know what you think.
